This is the same plant that is used for making green, oolong, and black teas. Pu-erh Tea undergoes a long period of aging for better flavor. This particular grade of Pu-erh has been aged for +15 years. Spelled Pu-erh or Puerh or Pu erh green tea is enjoyed by the Chinese as a health aid. This tea was featured on the Dr. OZ show. Taste
Zen’s Pu-erh has an earthy taste and can be brewed 5-7 times per teaspoon, so be sure to not throw away the tea leaves! After the first brew, add 1-2 minutes for every brew that follows. For example, the second brew can be brewed for 2-3 minutes, the third brew can be brewed for 4-5 minutes, etc.
