Thyme leaf can be added to multiple teas for flavor but also to aid in diarrhea and stomach aches. Thyme is used today as a natural cooking ingredient, commonly used for sautéing and to enhance the flavor of vegetables. The cooked and brewed flavor makes it an easy addition to other teas.

“Thyme is herbaceous plant of the platoon species, grows in mountainous areas, used as a beverage instead of or with tea, added to some food to give it an acceptable flavor, the plant is used in folk medicine frequently where it is prescribed to treat mouth infections, stomach, intestine and airways, coughing and gastroenteritis and expel intestinal worms, as well as to strengthen the heart [3]. Extracts from Thyme have been used in traditional medicine for the treatment of several respiratory diseases like asthma and bronchitis and for the treatment of other pathologies thanks to several properties such as antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitussive antimicrobial, anti-fungal,
anti-oxidative, and antiviral [7].”

According to WebMD, “Thyme is an herb. The flowers, leaves, and oil are used as medicine. Thyme is sometimes used in combination with other herbs.

Thyme is taken by mouth for bronchitis, whooping cough, sore throat, colic, arthritis, upset stomach, stomach pain (gastritis), diarrhea, bedwetting, a movement disorder in children (dyspraxia), intestinal gas (flatulence), parasitic worm infections, and skin disorders. It is also used to increase urine flow (as a diuretic), to disinfect the urine, and as an appetite stimulant.” https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-823/thyme
